JM Performance Products will feature its high-torque retention knobs, which are designed to prevent toolholder distortion. The knobs have the same head dimensions as traditional retention knobs, but their shanks are longer below the flange. In addition to providing increased durability, this relief, along with a precision pilot and controlled threads, allows for the stress to be distributed into a deeper cross-section of the toolholder, where it has more resistance. The high-torque knobs work in any new or used toolholders made to industry specifications, and are available in high-strength 9310 steel.
