Seco Tools’ Square 6-04 shoulder milling cutters incorporate trigonal inserts with six cutting edges, designed to increase productivity and lower the cost per edge. They are available in diameters as small as 0.75" with three different insert geometries and three different pitches for a variety of machining operations, including face milling, contouring, plunging, slotting and square shoulder milling. The ME09 geometry is suited for stainless steel, the M13 for steel and cast iron, and the MD15 for harder materials and applications requiring high cutting speeds. Each insert style provides two different corner radii to maximize reliability, the company says.
