Röhm offers LVE-V-AZ pneumatic, six-jaw front-end chucks for precise, centered and productive turning of large, long pipe ends, such as those used to extract crude oil or natural gas.
According to the company, the chucks’ combination of three concentric clamping jaws and three compensating jaws ensures low deformation. One advantage is capability for safe, complete threading operations without the need to shim the pipe to center. Another is the ability to mount chucks to the front and rear sides of the machine spindle to enable heavy-duty, high-precision turning of oil and gas pipe ends.
Various configurations are available to handle a range of applications, including the machining of bent pipes. These include ES versions with rapid stroke and clamping stroke, models with retracting clamping arms for pre-centering the workpiece, and chucks with spring clamping and pneumatic release.
