WardJet has expanded its line of Emerald waterjets with the small-scale Emerald 0606 and 0612 models. The waterjets are designed to offer the quality of larger systems with a reduced size and cost, the company says.
The Emerald 0606 model offers a cutting envelope measuring 2 × 2 ft. with12" of Z-axis travel. It features ballscrew drives and a short-travel, cantilever-style arm to balance the reduced machine footprint. The waterjet’s rigid, sturdy tank design enables it to cut materials ranging from 2"-thick foam to 12"-thick stainless steel.
The Emerald 0612 model offers a larger 2 × 4 ft. cutting envelope. It features ballscrew drives and a cantilever-style arm along with an enhanced tank for additional support. The waterjet is capable of indexing sheets of unlimited length from front to back. According to the company, standard 4 × 8 ft. sheets of material as thick as 2" can be cut more easily.
