Omax has released Intelli-Max 21, the latest version of its software suite for Omax JetMachining Centers. The release features a fourth-generation cutting model and is able to optimize tool paths automatically, the company says. This cutting model within the software builds upon real-world abrasive waterjet data accumulated through Omax’s first- and second-generation, equation-based cutting models, as well as data from the third-generation model, enabling more precise process and machine behavior predictions, the company says.
According to Omax, the software provides users with precise predictability regarding cutting speeds, taper, jet lag and other factors. These features enable better control, more uniform cutting and surface finish, extended ranges of machinability, and improved precision, speed and repeatability. Speed and accuracy are increased when machining corners and small radii, especially in thick materials.
The release also includes AutoPath command improvements and better import capabilities for DXF/DWG and PDF files, as well as enhanced memory for the 3D Path Editor. According to the company, the software requires minimal operator training and enables users to create precision 2D and 3D parts faster and with reduced cost.
