SolidCAM will showcase its software at in booth 1631. According to the company, SolidCAM software generates optimal and safe mill-turn programs with improved milling tool life for multi-axis Swiss-type and mill-turn multitasking machines.
SolidCAM says it combines advanced multitasking programing functionality, integrated channel-synchronized simulation and modern milling capabilities, all into a 3D CAD modeling platform, SolidWorks or Inventor.
With SolidCAM, simulation is integrated within the programming process. The ability to fully visualize a machine preview at each step of the programming process, is, according to the company, a faster, safer and more effective way to generate validated code.
SolidCAM’s iMachining technology reportedly reduces cycle times by 70 percent or more and increases tool life by five to 10 times. It features morphed spiral tool paths that are designed to constantly load the cutter. They have variable cutting angles and feed rates at every point of the toolpath.
In addition, SolidCAM’s iMachining Wizard automatically calculates optimal feeds and speeds, taking into account the cutting tool, stock material and machine characteristics. iMachining 3D can replace multiple standard roughing operations of complex 3D shapes.
According to SolidCAM, the company’s iMachining technology drives and protects tools in advanced mill-turn and Swiss-type CNC machines no matter the size of the tool or the hardness of the material. This enables shops to generate production-ready part programs, with reduced cycle times via better management of simultaneous operations and more efficient milling routines.
