Shur-Brite Mounted Seamless Satin finishing wheels have a structure designed for de-polishing and matte finishing without visible transition lines. The company says these finishing wheels are lighter, more pliable, and more conformable than other non-woven materials and made without scrim reinforcements. The wheels are said to be suitable for wet or dry applications, are resistant to loading, and output consistent performance throughout their extended life.
Shur-Brite finishing wheels are available with a ¼" shank, 2" width, and 3" or 4" diameter across medium, fine, and very fine grades. The wheels’ aluminum oxide grains are said to provide long life and withstand high pressure in general purpose applications, while their silicon carbide grains provide a fast, sharp cut and a uniform finish. The company also provides finishing wheels in flap and duplex brushes for use with angle grinders, using an integrated, tool-less threaded hub for fast changeover.
Superior Abrasive recommends running its Shur-Brite Wheels at slower speeds (between 3,000 and 4,000 rpm) for optimal finishing results. The wheels are suitable for blemish removal on ferrous, non-ferrous, and stainless materials; flash removal from non-metallic composites; gear and thread cleaning; micro-deburring; stainless steel cleaning and grain finishing; and reducing or blending fine scratch patterns.
