Exsys Tool's Compacto tool base holder is designed to reduce setup and tool-change times for CNC turning centers. The Compacto is available in C3, C4, C5 and C6 sizes and is suitable for all standard PSC (Capto) adapters. It features the industry’s shortest PSC interface, the company claims.
Compared to traditional base holders, the Exsys Compacto connection interface is said to make available more space and clearance, even for larger workpieces. It is also said to provide improved torque transmission and rigidity for increased tool accuracy. The polygon-shaped connection interface further maintains precision in on- or off-line quick-change.
For better accessibility, a built-in release mechanism on the outer spindle diameter of the Compacto enables operators to lock and unlock the adapters with a small torque key for fast tool changes. The automatic ejection of the adapters further increases speed and efficiency of tool exchanges. Change-over and setup take place solely in the face of the toolholder, eliminating obstructions.
