Sandvik Coromant introduces the GC3225 and GC3210 insert grades, designed to cover all cast iron turning operations for both gray and nodular cast iron materials.
The GC3225 is designed to provide secure and trouble-free machining even in the most difficult conditions, while the GC3210 provides high flank wear resistance for turning in in good to average machining conditions. It enhances reliability and productivity in intermittent cuts, in high-cutting-speed conditions, and in wet or dry machining with machined surface or light cast skin.
To provide the edge-line security and wear resistance necessary to optimize performance, these grades feature a CVD coating combined with a fine-grained hard substrate. Additionally, their optimized micro-geometries are said to facilitate light cutting action, which reduces cutting forces and improves tool life.
