Suited for vertical milling, drilling and tapping, Knuth Machine Tools USA’s VHF 3 universal milling machine also includes a horizontal arbor for horizontal milling, slotting and keyway cutting. The machine is useful for mechanic workshops, production, training, single-part manufacturing and prototyping. Featuring both horizontal and vertical spindles, it is said to combine the flexibility of running a standard vertical mill with the performance required to accommodate various complex applications.
Other features include outboard support, a vibration-damping, cast iron construction, automatic and rapid feeds in all three axes as well as three-axis DRO. The 2-hp machine provides a table area of 52" × 12" for long travel distances along with a 45-degree vertical swivel head for additional flexibility. Equipped with adjustable, ground dovetail guideways on the X axis and wide, square guideways on the Y and Z axes, the machine includes adjustable stops for drilling depth and table adjustments. Standard equipment includes a position indicator, a coolant system, a halogen work lamp, a 6" machine vise, operating tools and an operator manual.
