Designed to machine complex geometries, Makino’s F3 VMC is designed for rigidity and micron-range positioning accuracies and repeatability. The high-performance machine also features flexible tooling capabilities and quality control technologies, the company says.
The worktable accommodates part sizes ranging to 33.5" × 19.7" × 17.7" with a maximum workload of 1,432 lbs. The machine’s X-, Y- and Z-axis travels extend to 25.6", 19.7" and 17.7", respectively. Its 20,000-rpm, HSK-63A spindle incorporates the company’s custom core-cooling under race and jacket spindle temperature control system. It is designed for rigid roughing operations and precision machining of small details and fine features using small tools at high rpm. A standard 30-tool magazine enables precision machining with an array of tooling.
