Kitamura’s Mycenter-3XG VMC offers positioning accuracy measuring ±0.000079" and repeatability of ±0.000039". All mounted surfaces requiring assembly are hand scraped to provide full surface contact and proper alignment for long-term reliability, peak performance and accuracy, the company says.
The machining center’s thick walls and ribbed box-type, Meehanite-cast construction, coupled with solid box guide ways on the X, Y and Z axes, are designed to ensure quality and rigidity. The machine features a table size measuring 16.1" × 35.4", a load capacity of 1,100 lbs and a work envelope that expands work fixturing capabilities, especially when adding additional axis rotary tables for four- and five-axis machining.
The machining center has a 15-hp AC spindle motor with a direct-drive, dual-contact spindle system designed to increase machining rigidity, cutting accuracy and tool life. A 15,000-rpm spindle enhances super-fine finish capabilities with reduced vibration, making the center suited for die-mold and 3D applications. Feed rates range from 1,969 to 1,417 ipm on the X and Y axes and to 1,417 ipm on the Z axis.
