Mitsubishi Waterjet’s DX series is equipped with the Mitsubishi 700 series CNC, which is said to provide advanced programming capabilities for high-precision machining and improved productivity. The unit is controlled on a 15" waterproof screen, with improved graphics and NC designed to simplify operation.
Available from MC Machinery Systems, the waterjet series offers a number of new features. Its bridge design is now more rugged and accurate, while the new machine base incorporates a 22" I-beam construction, the company says. The stainless steel work tank is completely isolated from the machine frame, and the pump control is incorporated into the NC cabinet. In the new worktable design, slates are located by slots, but height is set by a solid indicated flat bar. Moreover, the redesigned Intelligent Taper Control (ITC) is said to be more accurate and robust, with focus tube length of 76 mm, while the new Human Machine Interface (HMI) allows easier use of control graphics. Other new features include 40-mm NSK ballscrews; an auto-grease system for ballscrew lubrication; and crash protection that works in the X, Y and Z axes.
