The company is conducting live demonstrations of waterjets featuring its high-powered pump and advanced motion system. Rated at 94,000 psi, the HyperJet pump is said to provide a 45-percent increase in power compared to traditional ultrahigh-pressure systems. The additional pressure can increase cutting speed by as much as 50 percent while lowering abrasive consumption and part costs by as much as 30 percent, the company says.
The Dynamic Waterjet motion system employs mathematical cutting models to drive an articulated wrist that tilts as required to hold inside corners and other geometries. This compensates for the stream lag and taper produced by all waterjets to enable higher precision at faster cutting speeds, the company says.
Cutting demonstrations are performed on the Mach 3 waterjet, which is powered by the FlowMaster control unit. Combining this control with HyperPressure and Dynamic Waterjet technologies is said to provide a system that is not only powerful and accurate, but also easy to use, the company says.
