Mitsubishi EDM’s MD+ Pro III Advance wire EDM features improvements to machine construction, auto-threading, internal machine communication and power supply technology. The machine can accommodate workpieces ranging to 31.9" × 27.6" × 8.5" and weighing as much as 1,102 lbs. The machine is equipped with a non-contact cylindrical drive system on the X- and Y-axis drives, and the company’s M700 series control with a 15" touchscreen.
Travels measure 15. 7" × 11.8" × 8.7" in the X, Y and Z axes, respectively, and maximum Z-axis height is 8.7". The EDM accommodates wire diameters ranging from 0.004" to 0.012", and the DMX-S digital matrix sensor shapes each spark, reducing electrode wear. The EDM features a non-contact, zero-backlash linear-shaft motor drive system; linear motion guideways; all-axes absolute control system; linear glass scale feedback; and optical rotary encoder feedback.
