Oerlikon (Pfäffikon, Switzerland) has acquired Metco from Sulzer AG, and will combine this acquisition with its existing Oerlikon Balzers coating business to form a new Surface Solutions Segment to be led by CEO Roland Herb. The division, the largest segment of the Oerlikon Group, will be headquartered in Balzers, Liechtenstein, and will operate approximately 130 facilities, including 110 coating centers, in 35 countries around the world.
