PTG Signs Agreement with University
A memorandum of understanding has created two new positions within the University of Huddersfield and has implications for future research and development.

Rochdale, UK-based Precision Technologies Group (PTG), parent company of Holroyd Precision, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Centre for Precision Technologies at the University of Huddersfield, located in Huddersfield, United Kingdom. The signing of this memorandum indicates both parties’ commitment to creating a research and development center in machine tool technology at the university.
The agreement creates a chair in machine tool technology position at the university, as well as visiting researcher status to be granted to an individual nominated by PTG and approved by the university. Professor Alan Myers of the University of Huddersfield will hold the position of chair in machine tool technology, while Professor Christopher Holmes, general manager of PTG’s Holroyd Advanced Developments division, has been appointed visiting researcher.
The agreement also grants PTG access to the university’s on-campus computing resources to assist with its research on machine tool modeling and predictive simulations.
