Renishaw Makes Senior Management Changes in Response to U.S. Expansion
The changes include upper-management promotions and appointments as the company plans for new facilities opening in 2017.

Renishaw Inc. has announced a series of changes to its senior U.S. management team in step with growth in the North American market. Leo Somerville, former president, has been promoted to oversee Renishaw North America in a newly created position to advance all aspects of Renishaw’s healthcare business. Replacing him as president of Renishaw is Howard Salt, former business manager of encoder products. Mr. Somerville will continue to assist the board in developing technical and commercial strategies in his new research and development role.
A new senior management team has been created to support Mr. Salt in his new role as president. David Bozich, former MT/Scanning business manager, has been appointed vice president of operations. Denis Zayia, former national sales and marketing manager, has been appointed vice president of sales and marketing.
Renishaw’s North American growth continues in the Detroit suburb of Auburn Hills, Michigan, with a 20,070-square-foot technology and research center to be built in Oakland Technology Park beginning early 2017. The company will also soon complete its 133,000-square-foot office and warehouse facility in West Dundee, Illinois, near Chicago. These centers provide venues where the additive manufacturing adoption process can be accelerated, the company says.
“We can give companies cost-effective, hands-on experience [in] metal additive manufacturing, combined with application engineering support to optimize their design, and postprocessing capabilities to ensure that it performs as it should,” says Mr. McMurtry.
