With a vast array of materials, Azul 3D’s LAKE enables manufacturers of industrial, consumer, and automotive goods to print continuously over large areas by dissipating heat, with a print area of 10” x 12”x 24”. LAKE uses an LED light engine, enabling users to address 16 million independent pixels without the need for “pixel shifting,” the company claims.
Utilizing Azul’s 3D high-area rapid printing technology, a version of stereolithographic printing that converts liquid plastic into solid objects via ultraviolet light, LAKE prints at rapid speeds using proprietary materials suited for a wide range of products. The printer was developed in collaboration with Azul 3D’s chemistry group, making it compatible with proprietary resins. It is the first in a series of printers that Azul 3D will unveil in the coming years, with the next generation offering four times the print area, enabling manufacturers to print larger parts.
