UltrAlloy 6020 was developed because of environmental concerns surrounding the issues of lead and aluminum recycling, the company says. The T8 temper offers stress relief for tighter mating tolerance applications and is used in applications requiring a free machining product that also requires surface modification. The company states that chipping characteristics combined with tight dimensional tolerances allow faster machining speeds thereby providing higher overall productivity.
