Impossible Objects’ Model One additive manufacturing machine works with composite materials using a process specifically designed for volume production of functional parts at scale. This process is intended as a replacement of conventional manufacturing methods.
The machine uses an approach that relies on high-speed 2D printing methods and long-fiber, reinforced sheets of carbon, Kevlar or fiberglass. The sheets are fused with Nylon 12, PEEK and other material combinations. The approach is said to deliver strong, lightweight functional parts at scale.
