Bystronic’s manual bevel angle cutting head option for Byjet waterjet cutting systems increases the flexibility of the system by allowing cutting at angles ranging to 45 degrees. In conjunction with the integrated height control and collision protection, the bevel head can be used for weld preparation or the cutting of holes that must be at an angle to the plate.
Suited for perforated armor plate for military applications, the angle cutting head does not use a fixed geometry. For example, the company says that if the application requires square slots instead of rounded slots, waterjet cutting allows the desired geometry to be programmed. A die set and multiple molds are not required for the end product.
The manual bevel head option is available on new Byjets, and it can be retrofit to existing machines.
