Automated Turning Center Operation
Share

An alternative to manually tending turning centers, the DS1200-MTL uses robotic technology to load and unload parts. Manufacturer Distech Systems says the ability to perform secondary operations such as parts washing, packout and stacking allows the system to operate as a versatile work cell. It accepts stacks of trays from carts, eliminating the need for manual lifting. A robotic arm feeds parts directly into the turning center’s spindle, fixture or internal loader. The robot can also load and unload auxiliary equipment during the machining process.
