The Compacto C3, C4, C5 and C6 base holders are designed to enhance the efficiency and productivity of CNC turning machines. The compact size of the base holder provides more space for machining in tight workspaces as well as improved torque transmission and rigidity for increased tool accuracy, the company says.
A built-in release mechanism on the outer diameter of the base holder’s spindle is designed to provide easy accessibility. Operators can lock and unlock adapters with a small Allen key for simple tool changes. The automatic ejection feature of the adapters increases the speed and efficiency of those tool exchanges, the company says.
Available for bolt-on and VDI-style turrets, the Compacto connection base holder accommodates fixed and rotary tools and accepts all standard PSC adapters. Adapters used in milling applications will now work in turning operations because of the base holder’s versatility.
