The company’s Calypso 3D measuring software allows measurement and automatic documentation of geometries and surface roughness in a single set-up. The interface permits the measurement of geometry and surface data of workpieces.
When used with the Handysurf surface measuring instrument and the DuraMax CMM, the software offers comprehensive measurements of the workpiece shape and surface. Handysurf is said to be easy to use, small and lightweight, and it fulfills the ISO, DIN, CNOMO, JIS and ASME surface standards. The results of the surface measurement can be transferred to a computer via a serial interface.
A special PCM program features a machine driver for the serial interface for connection to Handysurf. Surface measurement is an inspection feature in the measurement plan. The feature starts the PCM program, which guides the operator through the manual surface measurements. The results of both measurements, CNC and surface, are provided in the same measuring log. Surface measurement can be performed before or after CNC measurement.
