Mazak’s Integrex i-200S multitasking machine is designed to efficiently and accurately process mid-size complex components from raw material to finished workpieces in single setups. The machine features twin turning spindles as well as a milling spindle in a compact footprint measuring 157.1" × 110.2". The multitasking machine turns, drills, taps and mills, and is capable of off-centerline and full simultaneous five-axis contouring. It is said to reduce production lead times, improve machining accuracy and decrease operating costs.
Both turning spindles provide speeds ranging to 5,000 rpm and C-axis turning control with a bore capacity measuring 3" (76 mm) in diameter. The main headstock features spindle/motor design that can accommodate applications ranging from heavy-duty, low speed cutting to high speed cutting of aluminum and other nonferrous materials. The second spindle also features an integral spindle/motor to ensure efficiency in secondary operations.
The vertically mounted, 30-hp (22-kW) milling spindle provides 12,000 rpm and a rotating B-axis range of -30 to 240 degrees. The roller cam drive for the B axis provides accuracy and rigidity while limiting backlash. A 36-tool magazine enables faster tool changes and continuous part processing. A 72-tool magazine also is available as an option.
Mazak’s MX hybrid roller guide system provides increased vibration damping, extended tool life and long-term accuracy. The Y-axis travel measures 9.8" (249 mm) with a vertical X axis of 24.2" (615 mm) and 4.92" (125 mm) below the centerline. The machine accommodates parts ranging to 25.9" (657.8 mm) in diameter. It is equipped with Mazak’s Matrix 2 CNC control for optimized five-axis machining.
