The company says its Vortex Ultrafilter provides centrifugal force from high velocity vortex action to separate contaminants from machine tool coolant. Particles larger than 2 microns are trapped in the cleanable filter elements. The product is said to keep machine tools and coolant running ultra-clean, decreasing coolant replacement and disposal costs. With the abrasive "fine" particles removed, coolant retains its lubricity, and surface finish quality is achieved more easily, the company says. In many cases, according to the company, the need for additional finishing operations is eliminated. Bacteria and fungi are said to be suppressed, eliminating the odors they cause. According to the company, these efficiencies contribute to higher product quality, labor savings, less downtime to service the coolant system, longer tool life and reduced coolant disposal and replacement costs.
