The expanded SmartScope ZIP family of multi-sensor CNC dimensional measurement systems is available in various sizes for a range of applications.
The systems use crisp-imaging zoom optics for non-contact video measurement of manufactured parts. The AccuCentric 7:1 motorized zoom lens auto-calibrates with every magnification change for consistent measurements. High-brightness, all-LED illuminators increase image contrast for repeatable edge detection, while a DC servomotor drives deliver high speed stage motion, the company says.
The systems support additional sensors for full 3D measurement in a single part setup. The ZIP TTL (through-the-lens) laser, the off-axis DRS laser or the rainbow probe scanning white-light sensor characterize surface contours. Touch probes measure recessed, hard-to-image features. A feather probe uses milligram-level probing pressure to measure tiny or sensitive parts. Several sensors can be used on a single system.
Sensors can be used in any order within a measurement routine. MeasureMind 3D MultiSensor metrology software accepts all sensor data points and places them in a common 3D reference frame. The software includes options for 2D/3D form fitting, SPC, 3D CAD translation and custom report writing.
