Tungaloy offers the EcoTurn series of small-sized, economical turning inserts said to limit resource consumption during insert production while providing ecological benefits. Designed as a “downsized” alternative to conventionally sized inserts, EcoTurn inserts feature the same thickness and chipbreaker geometry as Tungaloy’s regular-sized inserts. According to the company, these similarities provide cutting performance equal to that of the larger inserts, including chip control and fracture resistance, at a lower price.
CNMG, DNMG, TNMG and WNMG geometries are available in steel or stainless steel turning grades. A new range of A-type toolholders accommodates the EcoTurn inserts, and the double-clamping design of the toolholders is said to provide high clamping rigidity and improved chip flow. The series is well-suited for finishing and medium cutting operations in steel and stainless steel applications.
