Previously offered solely as custom-built special orders, BurrFree Drills from E-Z Burr are now available in a range of standard fractional and metric sizes for hole diameters 0.374" (9.5 mm) and larger. The tool is said to save users time, space and money because it drills a hole, and then deburrs the front and the rear of a hole in one pass. Combining two operations in one step can also yield potential benefits such as increased productivity and profitability, says the company.

An insert adjustment feature allows the size of chamfer to be adjusted, while the quick- change locking system enables the user to change the insert in a matter of seconds. Both of these procedures can be completed without removing the tool from the machine. The tool has also been designed to allow only the cutting inserts to be replaced when worn, thus minimizing unnecessary disposal of other components.
