Cuttermasters’ GSC drill point grinders are designed to regrind drills with diameters ranging from 0.098 to 1.032". The GS1 is the base model for small drills. The GS11 will grind from 0.098 to 0.5". The drill point angle ranges from 90 to 140 degrees, making it suited for spot drills. The GS21 sharpens from 0.3125 to 1".
These machines use general electric synthetic diamond-plated or CBN wheels and are designed to provide long service life with little maintenance, the company says.
The ER16 collets hold the drill at the tip, giving an accurate center-producing drill tip geometry, generally conforming to NAS907b.
According to the company, grinding the drill with a good back split and perfect center takes about 1 min., and the wheels can sharpen thousands of drills before needing replacement.Â
