Emuge’s A-H family of HSS-E and HSSE-PM taps was designed to provide more standard product solutions for threading hardened steel and cast iron in such markets as heavy equipment and agriculture. The taps are available with or without coolant-through holes and the choice of a TiCN coating or NT nitride surface treatment for improved tool life.
The HSS-E tools can tap materials as hard as 48 RC. With a hard, heat-resistant powdered metal substrate, the HSSE-PM A-HCut taps can handle materials between 44 and 55 RC. The TiCN coating enhances the taps’ surface hardness and help increase abrasion resistance. Axial coolant holes aid in chip evacuation.
The A-H family of taps is offered in a Rekord A style for through- and blind-hole applications. UNC/ UNF thread sizes along with metric and metric fine sizes are available.
