Carmexʼs CMT line of end mills is designed to lengthen tool life, increase material removal, improve surface finish, reduce cycle times and lower cutting forces in materials as hard as 62 HRc. Made of MT8 submicron carbide grade with PVD triple coating, the CMT line is available in configurations for threading, grooving and chamfering. The tools feature four to eight cutting edges and a spiral flute design, offering high heat resistance and smooth operation for general-purpose applications.
The company says its cutters can be used with existing CMT C18-type toolholders but with improved performance thanks to the carbide grade, PVD triple coating and spiral flute design. A range of profiles is available, including 60- and 55-degree partial profiles for internal and external threading as well as ISO and UN full profiles for internal threading. Carmex also offers multiple sizes for chamfering, grooving and boring, as well as for regular and full-radius groove milling.
