The Kyocera Ceratip Ultra Hurricane end mills and face mills’ (MEC series) customized insert design offers wall finish with true 90-degree corners. The series is designed to withstand heavy cuts and lower cutting force, while allowing for increased feed rates. A silver coating and larger chip pocket radius protect the tool.

The company offers 14 end mills with cutting diameters from 5/8" to 1 1/2", with shank sizes ranging from 1/2" to 1 1/4". Five shell mills are available, with cutting diameters ranging from 1 1/2" to 4". Six insert radii—0.016", 0.031", 0.047", 0.063", 0.079" and 0.122"— are available in cast iron and steel grades to meet a range of job requirements.Ìý For cast iron applications, PR905 is said to provide stability. The Fine Surface (FS) TiAlN coating offers surface smoothness, wear resistance and thermal stability for extended tool life. The PR830’s combination of the FS TiAlN coating and a TiN coating make it suitable for high speed cutting in steels and stainless steels.
