MTI Systems has released a feature-based cost estimating module within its flagship product, Costimator.
Costimator V9.0 provides users with feature-based cost models for machining and sheet metal fabrication. According to the company, estimating based on part features enables estimators with little or no manufacturing experience to estimate parts. The application also provides a database of material speeds and feeds, work center specifications and cost models. The software is said to cover hundreds of manufacturing processes, including sheet metal fabrication, machining, plastics and assembly.
