MC Machinery’s eX-F-series fiber laser combines the structural benefits of the company’s eX-series CO2 lasers with the power and reliability of fiber, and is said to offer benefits in terms of performance and operating cost over CO2 laser systems. According to MC Machinery, medium and thick-plate processing times can be decreased by 44 percent and non-process times cut in half with simultaneous nozzle cleaning and changing, height sensor calibration, and gas purge during pallet changes possible on the eX-F fiber laser.
Now available with an 8-kW resonator, the system’s added advantages include 10 to 45 percent improved cutting speed depending on the material; improved quality and thickness range cutting mild steel with nitrogen; faster piercing in thick plate stainless steel; and control features like automatic focusing, two-action processing, simple nesting and program editing.
