Fiber Lasers Micro-Cut Medical Stents
With known kerf widths measuring between 20 and 30 µm, JK Lasers’ medium-power range, single-mode fiber lasers are designed for micro-cutting medical instruments, such as stents.

The lasers deliver highly concentrated, controlled amounts of heat to reduce the heat-affected zone. Typical cutting speeds for medical stents with a single-mode laser output are around 1 m per minute, the company says.
