The swivel-head design of Hurco’s five-axis VMX42SRTi features a flush rotary table that is embedded to provide an additional 3.5" of clearance in the Z axis for taller parts. The A- or C-style rotary table operates with unlimited angular movement, reducing cycle times because the table isn’t forced to unwind multiple times during the machining cycle, the company says. X-, Y- and Z-axis travels measure 42" × 24" × 24", and rapid traverse rates are 1,378, 1,378 and 1,181 ipm in the X, Y and Z axis, respectively. The system is equipped with a 12-K integral spindle, a 40-station swing-arm automatic toolchanger and an integrated Hurco control with both conversational and NC programming modes. Additionally, Hurco’s UltiMotion motion control system is said to improve surface finish quality and reduce cycle time.
The company will also display its VMX42i three-axis mill, VMX24HSi high speed mill and TMX8MYSi multitasking lathe with subspindle.
