Amada Machine Tools’ G07 gang-type CNC chucker turning center accommodates small- to mass-production applications. The system is available stand-alone with a bar feeder, or as a cell system with a gantry loader and a 10-station rotary table, one-axis palletizer or two-axis multi-palletizer. The machine is said to provide rigidity for hard-turning operations and high accuracy for finish turning.
The turning center accommodates workpieces as large as 100 mm (3.9") in diameter and 100 mm (3.9") long. Swing over bed is 11.2". Travels measure 18.9" × 11.2", and rapid traverse rates are 472 and 787 m/min. in the X and Z axes, respectively. According to the company, thermal displacement is 2.0 microns in diameter while roundness is 0.5 micron.
The turning center is equipped with the company’s Mega Tooling system, featuring boring, quick-change, cut-off, and drill and tap holders. It can accommodate turning tools and boring bars ranging to 0.75" in diameter. The turning center also is equipped with a 0i-TD controller.
