Leaders-In background

Peter Wolters of America offers its Micron Macro machine designed for creep-feed profile and high-efficiency deep grinding. Based on the moving-wheelhead concept, the machine enables high stock-removal rates and is said to reduce cycle times.

All linear movements are performed by the grinding head and are said to provide optimal force distribution with minimal thermal variation, while a torque tube design improves vibration damping and thermal stability. Spindles are available with various speeds and power ranges to suit the application. The machine can be automated with robotic loading and unloading, and the electrical cabinet and frame enable easy access to the machine interior while reducing the footprint.
