Knuth Machine Tools’ KB series bed-type milling machines are equipped with large beds and wide columns for handling large parts. The machine design provides increased stability, low vibration and improved precision at high table loads, the company says. Enhanced by a rigid, cast-iron frame with wide, solid, rectangular guideways, the KB 1400 is said to provide consistent milling accuracy on a variety of materials. Equipped with a standard three-axis position indicator, the machine features a cutter head with swivels ranging to 30 degrees. For increased productivity and quality surface finish, the 10-hp machine features infinitely variable speed adjustments ranging from 40 to 1,800 rpm and an infinitely variable X-axis feed.
With a maximum height adjustment ranging to 65 ipm and X-, Y- and Z-axis travels of 59" × 28" × 28", the machine is available with rapid feeds ranging to 140 ipm on the X and Y axes and 70 ipm on the Z axis. Standard equipment includes a coolant system, central lubrication, a halogen work lamp and an operator manual.
