The GE590H, Enshu’s largest horizontal machining center, is designed for large-part applications that demand both high-volume metal removal as well as precision. With its 630-mm pallet, the HMC can accommodate workpieces as large as 39.3" in diameter and 51" tall, and weighing as much as 2,645 lbs.
Featuring a 10,000-rpm, 40.2-hp spindle delivering 420-Nm of torque at the cut, the machining center can accurately process large forgings, airframe components, dies and molds, large valves, and more. Its X, Y and Z axes, measuring 39.4" × 35.4" × 41.3", sit atop oversized cross-roller linear guideways for optimum rigidity. The HMC comes is equipped with a 40-tool magazine accommodating tools as long as 23.6" as well as an automatic pallet changer. It can also be expanded with larger tool magazines and FMS pallet systems.
The spindles, ballscrews and servomotor mounts are refrigerated and temperature-controlled within 1°C of ambient for accuracy via thermal stability, the company says.
