Feed rate and rapid traverse as high as 1,968 ipm in all axes, accelerations as high as 1g, and a high speed pallet changer combine to comprise the Matsuura H. plus-405 horizontal machining center (HMC).
Features include a maximum work envelope of 25.59" x 29.50" in diameter, a load capacity as high as 881 lbs and a 31-station ATC.
The HMC also comes standard with a 12,000-rpm BT40 taper spindle. According to the company, its helical rigidity virtually eliminates backlash. Options such as 20,000 rpm and 30,000 rpm spindles, coolant-through spindle and coolant systems with temperature controllers are also available. A 1-degree indexing table uses a large-diameter curved coupling to provide positioning (5 seconds, with a repeatability of ±2 seconds). An optional 0.001-degrees table is capable of simultaneous fourth-axis machining.
The ATC has a chip-to-chip time of 3 seconds and can store as many as 31 tools. The pallet changer has a changing time of 7.5 seconds and the ability to store two 19.68" x 19.68" pallets.
