Share

Mori Seiki’s DuraTurn CNC lathes feature rigid bodies to reduce vibration and increase accuracy. To further stabilize turning ability, the lathes are equipped with roller guides. With four models offered in various sizes, the machines have a maximum turning length ranging from 13.2" to 20.9" and are available with chuck sizes of 6", 8" and 10". All contain 12 tool stations and feature maximum rapid traverse rates of 944.9 ipm across both the X and Z axes. Maximum spindle speed ranges from 3,000 to 6,000 rpm.
The company also offers the DuraVertical line of VMCs. Available in three models, the machines have work envelopes ranging from 35.4" × 23.6" to 53.1" × 23.6". Each has a No. 40-taper spindle with a maximum speed of 10,000 rpm. The VMCs have standard tool-storage capacity of 30 tools, and tool-to-tool change time is 1.3 seconds. Rapid traverse rates can reach 1,417.3 ipm on the X and Y axes and 787.4 on the Z axis. To further enhance productivity, the machines are available with various chip-conveyor options.
