The TUR930MN/CNC is a long-bed lathe designed to maintain flexible production demands while maximizing performance capabilities. The TRI-V bedway uses large V-ways to boost accuracy, rigidity and repeatability in difficult turning and boring applications while extending the lathe’s life and protecting against instability and wear, the company says. Allowing as much as 37" swing × 236" turning length, the lathe operates with a Fanuc or Siemens 30/40-hp main drive (option to 50/60 hp) and a two-range headstock with constant surface speed and auto-shifting capabilities. Â
The 24.5" one-piece Meehanite grade bed is cast to 315" bc. The machine’s independent control panel is operated by a choice of Manual Plus CNC controls: the Fanuc 21iTB or the Siemens 840D sL. An optional Oil Country version of the machine is available with 8.6", 12.5" or 14.2" spindle bores as well as a heavy-duty headstock incorporating oversized bearings with wide gearing. Available options include an eight-position sauter turret; a quick-change toolpost; live tooling with a C axis; a boring bar with additional R.H. support; and a steady rest with four-point support.
