Hexagon Metrology offers the Brown&Sharpe OptivTM line of multi-sensor measurement systems, which features optical, camera, laser and tactile probing options in variety of configurations. With more than 25 possible size/accuracy combinations and various accessories, the system is designed to be a single solution for demanding 2D and 3D applications. The company says a dual Z axis enables fast measuring cycles and makes the system an alternative to measuring solutions that combine multiple sensors on a single Z axis.
The system is powered by the company’s PC-DMIS Vision dimensional metrology software. The software’s off-line CAD programming capabilities increase system uptime because users don’t have to program on the machine itself, the company says. These capabilities include simulated lighting, magnification and camera image. The software also features CAD translators and direct CAD interfaces to major formats to ensure compatibility regardless of the native system.
