A Meehanite-cast construction provides increased vibration absorption capabilities for improved surface finish quality and cutting tool life, the company says. A two-station automatic pallet changer is automation ready and field expandable, ranging to 10-pallets for unmanned operation potential. The standard, full fourth-axis rotary table features a direct-drive motor, enabling speeds of 300 rpm and reducing part cycle times, decreasing backlash and providing a firm, rigid machining platform, the company says. It offers positioning accuracy of ±0.002 mm (±0.000079")
A 40-tool fixed pot automatic tool changer enables the addition of as many as 102 tools. According to the company, the fixed pot design assures tools are returned to the same pot and the next tool to be used is kept in a stand-by pot. The machining center enables five-axis simultaneous capabilities to be added to both pallets after installation.
The machine features a standard, high-torque, 15-hp, dual-contact 30-taper spindle. An optional, high-speed, 30,000 rpm HSK-E40 spindle is also available for more detailed machining applications. Its Arumatik-Mi control features on-demand help guidance, visual work setting, maintenance support functions and a 19" swivel color LCD.
