The company has introduced the IP-66 rated digital caliper for use in harsh environments where coolants and moisture are prevalent in the manufacturing process.
The caliper is sealed against coolants, dust, chips and water up to 3' deep. This rating allows users to take precise measurements without removing and cleaning the workpiece, the company says. It is useful in milling, grinding and lathe operations.
This new caliper also features the company’s “Set 'n Forget” absolute encoder technology that prevents operator error and the need to reset the zero position each time the caliper is used, the company says. The caliper is also said to be SPC-capable without compromising its protection rating. Available in 6" 8" and 12" models, it has an accuracy of ±0.001" and resolution of 0.0005".
