Haas has redesigned its Mini Mill small-footprint VMCs with a focus on improving ease of use and operator productivity. A flood coolant ring moves the nozzles out of the way, while offering easy-aim flexibility and higher-pressure spray. The addition of an optional oil skimmer keeps coolant free of surface oils. Additionally, the chip clean-out area has been enlarged, making chip removal much easier.
Other features for ease of use include a toolholder tray, storage tray, work surface, hand-tool rack and toolholder vice. The machines also now feature a fully-enclosed sheet metal top, eliminating the need for the previous clear plastic top cover option. An added air blowgun and washdown nozzle at the front of the machine are easily accessible. All models also now employ the consolidated air/lube manifold found on other Haas CNC machines. The LED work light runs cooler, brighter and longer than its predecessor, and requires no maintenance, according to the company.
