The next-generation Lightnin Rod lighted work stop from R&R Tool is designed to help machine operators precisely place parts without having to retighten the vise and recheck placement. This results in more efficient machining. In the past, machinists would have to "feel" the part to determine if it was placed correctly, the company says. The Lightnin Rod is designed to eliminate misloading at the beginning of the machining process. The operator places the part in the machine, and a blue light indicates when it is properly in place, ensuring accuracy to within 0.0002". The work stop is said to be well-suited for machining of medical parts.
